A lot of calls that come in all have pretty much the same complaint. "My transmission is slipping", but in the transmission world we know that's not always the case. Other issues called flares, tie-ups, and binds can all be misinterpreted as a "slip," but in fact there are other types of problems that require different routes to fix.

Not all problems require a rebuild, but every problem needs to be completely diagnosed to see what the best fix will be. Today's vehicles are heavily computer controlled and the smallest problem within the system can cause the transmission to not operate properly.

Diagnosing the problem is the first and most important step in fixing the transmission.
